Justine Ogbevire

I am a Chicago-based independent recording artist, music producer, sound designer, and creative practitioner working across experimental hip-hop, jazz, soulful expression, and community-rooted creative projects.

My story

My work connects musical experimentation with questions about identity, emotion, and how people find language for their experiences. I am drawn to the meeting point of technical practice and personal meaning: learning how music works while remaining open to what music can become.

Beyond recording and production, my background in community-centered creative work and restorative approaches shapes how I think about collaboration. I believe creative development can be a space for reflection, dignity, and the discovery of an artist's own direction.

My creative history includes work connected with Circles & Ciphers and independent collaborations across music and community-based arts. Selected credits and projects include In Circles We Trust (2025), the Circles & Ciphers mixtape Hide or Seek (2023), and Sir with Tommy Carroll (2017).
